Pacing Tips From Gaming

Backplots and subplots and, most importantly, main plots are all highly dependent on pacing. Like characters and story, pacing is one of those core things you have to get right. I’ve talked about it quite a bit, on and off, but always from the perspective of the written word. Today I’m going to be lazy and give you a video to watch instead. The guys at Extra Credits approach everything from the perspective of video game design but that doesn’t mean that their expertise isn’t entirely applicable to what we’re doing. They’re telling stories too, and for a very demanding audience in an extremely competitive market. See what useful nuggets you can pick up from this:
